Frequently Asked Questions
Who can apply to the Diploma Programme?
Applicants of all backgrounds and experiences are welcome. No formal art education is required. The two-year, full-time programme is designed to develop each student both as a designer and as a maker.
What does the application include?
The application consists of two elements: a brief personal statement of around 250 words (your interest in traditional arts, any previous experience, and what you hope to gain), and up to 10 images of your own artwork as JPGs or PDFs.
Applications must be submitted no later than Sunday 28 August.
How are applicants selected?
After reviewing the applications, up to 25 applicants will be invited to an online interview with a team from The King's Foundation School of Traditional Arts on 3-4 September. Successful applicants will be notified by 9 September, and registration takes place between 10-25 September.
When do classes start, and what is the schedule?
The first day of class is Monday 5 October. Each academic year consists of three terms of eight weeks, and students are expected to attend daily during term time from 9am to 5pm. The tuition fee is $2,500.
